Virginia Mason is seeking an accomplished Clinical Information Systems (CIS) Manager to lead our Cerner CIS Production Support and System Engineering team. This manager provides leadership and management expertise to the CIS team, ensuring the reliability and integrity of the EHR. The manager develops and manages teams of systems and application engineers, ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with the Virginia Mason vision and values of Teamwork, Integrity, Excellence and Service (TIES). This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the EHR, including incident management, system maintenance, performance monitoring and improvement, technical upgrades, and application enhancement requests; and participate in the planning process for new applications and technologies. The manager must possess a thorough working knowledge of IT operations and process improvement methodologies.
- Equivalent of a four year college degree in information systems or a related field.
- 5+ years of increasingly responsible information systems management experience.
- Knowledge of Cerner Millennium preferred.
- Excellent communication, management and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and make timely decisions.
- Experience with using and implementing SDLC processes (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
- Experience with reporting productivity metrics and KPI's around production support.
- Experience with IT management and process improvement methodologies, ITIL and Lean preferred.
